The Mayflower Award honors outstanding school nurses in Massachusetts who go above and beyond to care for their students and school communities.

This program allows Cartwheel to recognize frontline heroes who help keep school communities healthy through their compassion, dedication, and everyday impact.

How to Enter

Nominations will be submitted via a dedicated page on the Cartwheel website, www.gocartwheel.com.

Each nomination must include:
  • A 250-word (max) written statement describing why the school nurse deserves recognition
  • A photo of the nominated nurse

All finalists receive:

Official Rules

The Mayflower Award · Honoring Massachusetts School Nurses

Eligibility

  • Open to residents of Massachusetts only.
  • Nominees must be currently employed as a licensed school nurse at a public or private K–12 school in Massachusetts.
  • Nominators must be 18+ or students aged 13–17 with guardian consent.

How to Enter

  • Visit www.gocartwheel.com between August 24, 2026 and October 31, 2026.
  • Complete the online nomination form, including:
    • A written statement (max 250 words) explaining why the nurse deserves recognition
    • A photo of the nominated nurse
  • Limit one entry per person. Multiple individuals may nominate the same nurse.

Selection Process

  • A judging panel will select finalists based on:
    • Compassion and patient advocacy
    • Dedication to student well-being
    • Innovation or creativity in care
    • Community impact
  • One grand prize winner will be chosen from among the finalists.

Prizes

  • Finalists receive a special recognition certificate and a social media feature.
  • One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive:
    • The Mayflower Award plaque
    • A deluxe Cartwheel care package
    • A $500 classroom or health office grant/gift card
    • Optional media feature with Cartwheel press contacts

Announcement Dates

  • Finalists announced November 13, 2026
  • Winner announced Friday, November 20, 2026 (last school day before Thanksgiving break)

Additional Terms

  • By submitting, nominators grant Cartwheel the right to use submitted materials (including photo and statement) in promotional efforts.
  • No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.
  • Cartwheel reserves the right to modify or terminate the program at any time.
