FAQs

What are head lice?

Head lice are tiny, wingless insects that live on the human scalp and feed on blood. They are a common nuisance, especially among school-aged children, but they do not carry diseases.

How do you get head lice?

Lice are spread primarily through direct head-to-head contact. Less commonly, they can spread by sharing personal items like hats, brushes, or pillows.

What are the signs of a lice infestation?

Common symptoms include itching, a tickling feeling on the scalp, visible lice or nits (lice eggs), and small red bumps on the scalp or neck.

What do lice and nits look like?

Adult lice are about the size of a sesame seed and move quickly. Nits are tiny, oval-shaped eggs that stick to the hair shaft near the scalp and are often mistaken for dandruff.

Can lice jump or fly?

No. Lice cannot jump or fly—they crawl. This is why close contact is the primary way they spread.

How do I treat lice naturally and effectively?

Our natural lice treatment kit provides a safe, effective solution without harsh chemicals. Follow the step-by-step instructions for best results, remove lice and nits with our fine-tooth comb, and clean personal items. Repeat as directed to ensure complete removal.

How do I clean my home after a lice infestation?

Wash bedding, hats, and clothing in hot water and dry on high heat. Vacuum furniture and floors. Items that can't be washed can be sealed in a plastic bag for 2 weeks.

Can pets get head lice?

No. Lice are species-specific and only live on humans. Your pets cannot get or transmit human lice.

How long do lice live?

Lice can live up to 30 days on a human scalp. Off the scalp, they usually die within 24–48 hours.

Why do lice keep coming back?

Lice may return if nits were missed during treatment or if there is another exposure. Consistent combing and a second treatment (if needed) are key to complete removal.

Should my child stay home from school if they have lice?

This depends on school policy. Many schools now allow children to return after treatment begins. Check with your local school or district for specific guidelines.

Do I need to treat the whole family?

Only treat those who are infested, but check everyone closely. It’s important to catch it early to prevent spreading.
